This is part 2 of a two-part interview with Peter Axtell. Peter is a true modern renaissance man as his resume is extensive. Early in life, he was a musician which he further developed into recording and producing music. He has fifteen years of experience in real estate. Above all, he is a creative and caring person with an entrepreneurial spirit which has led him into various small business ventures such as speaker design, custom furniture, food manufacturing, and consulting. He has trained as a Buddhist practitioner, trained in coaching, and studied human motivation. It is with this he wants to help people create an authentic, meaningful, and fulfilling life they love while having a successful and rewarding career. He is a co-founder and managing partner at “Pathwise Publishing” LLC. He is the chief business development officer and co-founder of MotivationFinder.com and director of media production/coaching strategy and co-founder of WhatsNext.com. In this segment, Peter continues his story of coming back to the United States and how he ended up pursuing life as a realtor. The training he did and his experience within the first weeks on the job are talked about. He talks about how the industry changed coming up to and during the mortgage crisis. He illustrates how he dealt with this as a realtor. The listener will appreciate the internal battles he faced with himself in this profession. Making decisions purely based on money as opposed to if he liked it or not. It was this and the added pressure that led Peter to a life-changing event, he had a heart attack. He describes what this is like. But more importantly how this changed him and his outlook on life. He talks about how he started putting his life back together. In doing so he started his creative process by asking “what I am interested in” and “what do I want to do with my life”, self-exploration. His experiences with filming and coaching are talked about fully. His passion to help others is evident in this interview. He describes his experience volunteering to play music in care homes. Music has an impact on us and he describes the transformation he saw with the residents at the homes. He explains his past experiences good and not-so-good. In doing so he realized that he wanted to serve the world. And he did not want to do it alone. Again, with more serendipitous events he describes how he met the love of his life Nicola. He illustrates how the two of them with their entrepreneurial skills and passion have developed a series of tools that will help people create an authentic, meaningful, and fulfilling life that they love while having a successful and rewarding career. This interview will benefit anyone interested in being a realtor or being in sales as there are good tips. However, it is eye-opening as well. It does illustrate how the choices we make matter and how they can impact our health, which matters the most. In addition, this is an inspiring story of how someone has put his life back together for the better. It is a story about what adversity can teach us.
