This is part two of a three-part interview with Gino Arcaro. Gino is a former police officer, detective, educator, business owner, author, and strength and football coach. Gino has a Bachelor’s degree of Science from Empire State College New York; a Master’s degree in Education from Brock University Ontario; a Basic Recruit Diploma from Ontario Police College; a Criminal Investigation Diploma from Ontario Police College; a Homicide Investigation and Forensic Science Certificate from the Center of Forensic Science Toronto; a National Coaching Certification Program Level 3 and a College Teaching Certificate from the Ontario College Association. In this segment, Gino talks about how a person can get into policing by finding the balance between education and life experiences. In essence, how to build a resume for such a field. It is because of his vast experiences in dealing with the public in law enforcement, education, coaching, and business the conversation goes into the concept of life and leadership. How we can all be better and do better in essence, grow with whatever path we take. There are some really interesting tidbits of advice on how to overcome fear and develop one’s passion. Why some of us are holding back and how to overcome those obstacles that we all face is discussed. Leadership is examined with many examples of what leaders represent including how to think out of the box and how to deal with the consequences. Gino has examples of David and Goliath’s stories from his coaching football which also is very inspiring. The listener will develop a better understanding of their requirements if they want to get into law enforcement. In other words, some things to consider in building a resume and applying for a career in policing. There is a motivational section, so if a listener feels stuck or unsure of a path to take there is a discussion on self-development and understanding your own identity. The listener will get more insight from Gino’s perspective on career changes and how he has accomplished so much.
